2025 will be HOT!

Greetings salsa fans!  Louie Ezra here.  A quick preview of some plans for 2025.  We've added two new peppers to our garden plan for this summer to help bring the heat with some of our salsas!

Datil Peppers and Yellow Jamaican Hot Peppers are both yellow peppers with heat similar to a habanero, but with an extra element of sweetness to them.  They will up the heat game of Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa with an extra hot variety new for 2025!  Look for more details in a couple of months.  That's all for now - I can't wait til this year's crop comes in!  But in the meantime, enjoy a special deal on our remaining salsa batches - 3 eight ounce jars for only $15!  Contact us for more info or to place an order.

New varieties from the 2024 garden crop!

Greetings!  Louie Ezra here, CTO of Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa.  I'm excited to bring news of a couple of new varieties of our delicious salsa from this year's garden!

First off, we've added the smoky goodness of Poblano peppers to most of our salsa batches.  It brings a new level of flavor to the already outstanding recipes.  Also, we grew two new varieties of tomatoes - one on purpose, one not so much.  We trialed some German Queen heirloom tomatoes in the 2023 season - just a couple of small batches for my humans to enjoy.  They were fantastic - the sweetest tomatoes we'd ever found.  So we planted a bunch of them for 2024.  Except for one small problem - we apparently got a mixed batch of seeds, because over half the plants ended up being NOT German Queens.  Fortunately, they were an excellent tomato that we dubbed "Mystery Red".  It made an excellent salsa, both on its own and when mixed with the German Queens.

So from the 2024 season, we still have our Black Krim Extra Garlic, to go along with various combinations of Mystery Reds and German Queens.  Try some today before it's gone!!

Join me in helping a special organization!

Hi everyone!  Louie Ezra here to talk about a cause dear to my heart.  As you may know, my humans adopted me as a rescue dog.  I came from Texas, and was saved from a kill shelter by a wonderful woman named Tracy Voss and her team at Tracy's Paws Rescue.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to this organization, and it's one of my humans' favorite causes to support.

As such, I've instructed the staff here at L.R.E.S. that for the months of March and April 2024 we will be donating 5% of every salsa purchase to Tracy's Paws Rescue.  Enjoy our delicious salsa while helping to make a difference in the lives of lost, abused, and abandoned dogs.  They deserve a second chance - let's help Tracy and her amazing team give more dogs the opportunity at a loving forever home!

Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa gives back!

My local community (the City of Tonawanda) holds an annual event called "Rockin' with Santa", which collects toy donations to help those who are struggling to provide the joy of Christmas to their children.  I love kids, so as the Chief Tomato Officer of L.R.E.S., I instructed the human laborers to utilize some of our revenue to make a donation of toys to this awesome program.  Merry Christmas to all from Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa!

The Story of Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa

The story of Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa begins with a low budget anniversary date, continues with a feisty tomato-loving rescue Terrier, and ends with uniquely flavored salsa handcrafted in small batches with love and dedication to quality.

The creator of Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa found an intriguing salsa recipe that she elected to make as part of a picnic to celebrate her wedding anniversary. Upon completion, she had one thought - "I can do better!"

Fast forward a couple of years to the arrival of the salsa's namesake. A rescue dog from TracysPaws in Texas who immediately became family, Louie Ezra was spirited and came ready made for Western New York - he loves snow, and has a "can do" attitude no matter what adversity comes along. His attitude and tenacity inspired the creator to pursue her gardening and salsa-making passions. And he can't get enough tomatoes. He sits patiently, watching with great anticipation as Momma cuts the tomatoes, just hoping a piece or two falls to the floor. So of course the salsa had to bear his name!

The breakthrough for the salsa's taste came from the creator's decision to roast the ingredients, intensifying the flavors and adding a bit of caramelization. Tomatoes, peppers and garlic fresh from the garden combine with sweet onions and shallots in every batch, with some varieties also receiving grilled corn and/or freshly picked cilantro.

Enjoy an 8oz. jar of pure deliciousness for only $8!

Try the "Pink Heirloom" variety, with the natural sweetness of pink-fleshed tomatoes being enhanced by just the right amount of heat and a generous helping of freshness from cilantro.

Or the "Black Krim Extra Garlic", featuring - you guessed it - a heavy hand with the garlic, playing perfectly with the slight saltiness of the Black Krim Heirloom tomatoes. (The BKEG has a small quantity of 16oz. jars available for $13.50 in addition to the 8oz. size)

Perhaps you prefer a little more heat. If so, try the "Yellow Heirloom + Blue Dwarf = Heat", adding roasted Blue Dwarf hot peppers to the mix for a satisfying salsa that will tantalize your taste buds with spicy flavor but stops well short of burning them off.  (NOTE: currently a very small quantity available - more on the way of this variety.)

Or better yet - try them all with the 3 jars for $20 deal! Pick any 3 of the 8oz. size and save $4 off the individual jar price.

But whatever you do, don't wait - Louie Ezra's Roasted Salsa is available in a limited quantity (as all good handcrafted things are), and once it's sold out, it's gone until next year!!
